* Decrease the number of salt you consume as part of your food. Make sure you reduce the junk food and switch to a lot of vegetables and fibrous foods.

* Exercise daily for at least thirty minutes. It is important to keep the weight in balance and lose those unwanted pounds so that you are healthy

* Reduce the number of stress. Stress can be a major factor that can contribute to high blood pressure levels.

* Give up smoking and reduce your consumption of alcohol to not more than one glass every day. Both these habits can cause a number of other problems besides hypertension.

* Drink plenty of water daily.
